Do you love the outdoors and want to make a real impact on Central Otago’s landscapes?
Central Otago Wilding Conifer Group (CWG) is on the lookout for a proactive, people-focused and hands-on contracted Volunteer Coordinator to lead community events removing invasive wilding pines. This is your chance to combine conservation with community, bringing together volunteers, landowners and local groups to protect the region’s unique environment. If you're organised, energetic, and passionate about nature, we want to hear from you!
What you’ll do:
Organise, promote and lead volunteer events across Central Otago
Have strong communication skills and ability to organise effective events
Work closely and in conjunction with our Project Manager
Liaise with landowners, companies, agencies and volunteers
Manage and grow our volunteer database
Ensure safety and provide guidance in the field
Record and report volunteer activity and effectiveness, in line with set and agreed Key Performance Indicators
You will bring:
Passion for conservation and community
A vibrant energy to inspire others to get involved
Strong organisation and communication skills
Good fitness for outdoor work
Experience coordinating volunteers or events
Knowledge of HS&E requirements
First Aid certificate (or willing to obtain)
Growsafe certificate (or willing to obtain)
A reliable vehicle
We offer:
Flexible hours, some weekends/early evenings

Opportunity to design and manage a communications plan to engage and mobilise locals
A part time contracted role, approximately 900 hrs/year, with vehicle allowance
